This Week on Beyond the Gates

It’s looking like Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Hayley (Marquita Goings) are breaking bread at Orphey Gene’s. “So, friend. How are we going to help each other?” asked Leslie. If Hayley and Leslie team up, they will instantly become a powerful and formidable alliance. They both want to get revenge on certain members of the Dupree family. Together, they could probably bring down mountains.

Meanwhile, a different alliance has solidified. Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Smitty (Mike Manning) are close to learning that the Duprees helped cover up a scandal that happened two years ago. Investigative reporter Smitty has a lead. “I found a connection between Malone (Darryl W. Handy) and Vernon (Clifton Davis).” Vernon and Martin (Brandon Claybon) better start brushing up on their stories.

MORE: Here’s what’s coming up on the Monday, July 7 episode of BTG.

While Dani (Karla Mosley) wonders if Vernon’s preoccupation has something to do with Martin, her daughter is at the hospital looking worried. Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) is on the phone. “I’m at the hospital, Jacob. Please come quick, it’s an emergency.” Does this emergency involve June (Jasmine Burke) or someone else, like Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett)?

Doug (Jason Graham) seemingly walks in on Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and Randy (Maurice P. Kerry), probably right after Randy took care of the Kenneth (Jason Vendryes) situation. “What the hell,” Doug exclaims. Let’s hope he didn’t hear anything or see anything he wasn’t supposed to see or hear.

In the next shot, Vanessa and Doug have a one-on-one with Randy, who’s probably ready to spill but knows if he does, he’ll be in danger. After Vanessa asks Randy if he’s afraid of Joey, Randy responds, “Terrified.” He should have known his boss was a scary individual. What will Randy do next?

The bad blood continues with another Eva (Ambyr Michelle) and Kat showdown (Colby Muhammad). In the video preview, Eva’s reading Kat for filth. “You’re a spoiled, selfish, little b–ch.” However, Kat isn’t backing down anytime soon. “Is that the best you got?” is her tough response to Eva being in her face.

Finally, Ashley (Jen Jacob) and Andre (Sean Freeman) head out on their date. “Ready to turn some heads?” asks Andre. Up next, Dani is at Uptown and she has spied Ashley and Andre out on their date. Let’s just say, she isn’t happy. How do we know? She slams her stuff on the bar and glares at Andre and Ashley’s table.
