Kate Middleton is stepping into the spotlight for an important upcoming royal visit.

The Princess of Wales will be playing a key role in the state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the U.K. on Tuesday, July 8. Middleton, 43, and husband Prince William will participate in a grand carriage procession with Macron, 47, and his wife, Brigitte Macron, through the streets of Windsor, per People. The royal couple will welcome the French leaders at an airbase north of London before making their way to Windsor, where they will be greeted by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Since Buckingham Palace is undergoing renovations, the event will be held at Windsor Castle, with a Royal Salute in Windsor’s Home Park and the Tower of London. The Macrons, along with the royal family, will then embark on a memorable day, starting with a military march past and followed by a state lunch at the castle.

Later, King Charles and President Macron will explore the royal collection, which includes French connections, before the Macrons visit Westminster Abbey to pay respects at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. The President and his wife will also be staying at Windsor castle, with plans to visit St. George’s Chapel to lay flowers at Queen Elizabeth’s grave.

One highlight of the visit will be the state banquet, hosted by King Charles and attended by the royal family, and is expected to include the Prince and Princess of Wales as well. While Middleton was absent from the last U.K. state banquet due to her recovery from cancer treatment, she has since shared candidly about the challenges she faced in the aftermath of her battle. Speaking about her experience, she said, “You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to.”
