Nicole Byer has to be reminded she once dated her podcast guest — and even kissed him: 'This is insane'

Well, at least it didn't stand out as a bad date?
Nicole Byer had a seriously awkward moment on a recent episode of her podcast, Why Won't You Date Me?, when her guest, comedian Lou Wilson, had to remind her that they once went on a date together.
Byer, the host of former Netflix show Nailed It!, asked him the question in the title of the show, which she asks all her guests, and was surprised at his answer.

Byer appeared too confused to respond, and she argued that he was wrong.
Then, Wilson gave more detail: "Yes, we have, we went on a date on Feb. 18. 2020," which was what she needed for it to click.
"We did go on a date!" Byer screamed. "Oh my god. This is insane that I remember none of the details."
She explained that she recalled the two had matched on a dating site, but she couldn't remember if they actually went out. They did, once.
"Wow," Byer mused. "You didn't kiss me, though."

To this, Byer collapsed in laughter.
"Should I go?" Wilson joked. "There's a lot of things I can be doing with my Fourth of July. And I chose to be here."
Byer pretended to begin shutting down the show then.
But she was curious about the quality of the kiss, to which Wilson said it was "fine," but just a first kiss.

Byer was able to coax out a few more details. He found her "genuinely so funny" and had a "genuinely good time" — that is after they finally went on the date. She had to reschedule a few times, because he caught her during a time when she was doing a lot of touring and didn't yet have an assistant to do her scheduling.

They joked that it was good they had that part of the conversation at the end of the show.
