The actress is portraying Argentine political leader Eva Perón – the second wife of Argentine president Juan Perón – in Jamie Lloyd’s production of “Evita.”

“The opportunity to bring Jamie Lloyd’s singular, visionary ideas to life onstage is an honor unlike any other,” continued Zegler. “The stage has always felt like home to me, and I can’t wait to make my West End debut in such great company.”

Her latest role comes on the heels of a controversial year. Zegler received widespread backlash while promoting Disney’s live-action film, “Snow White.”

Zegler wrote in a series of now-deleted Instagram Stories: “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”

She added, “Another four years of hatred, leaning us towards a world I do not want to live in. Leaning us towards a world that will be hard to raise my daughter in.”

In turn, many Trump supporters took to social media to reveal that they were boycotting the film.

The “Hunger Games” vet also criticized the 1937 original animated“Snow White,”calling David Hand’s work “extremely datedwhen it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman is fit for in the world.”

“The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so,” Zegler told Extra in 2022.

“There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So we didn’t do that this time,” she quipped.

Zegler was then slammed as “immature” by Disney producer Marc Platt’s son,Jonah Platt, in an explosive rant after the film flopped at the box office.
