The Duprees Face Numerous Threats In the July 11 Beyond the Gates — Who Should We Worry About the Most?

So much trouble is brewing for our Fairmont Crest faithful. In the Friday, July 11 episode of Beyond the Gates, Anita faced a barrage of anger, accusations, and assumptions from her fellow Articulettes. Martin — who’s a bit of a troublemaker himself — spotted the bigoted busboy hitting too close to home…AGAIN. And it’s starting to feel like Chelsea may need to watch her and Madison’s backs.

A Complication With The Articulettes Comeback

Because Anita (Tamara Tunie) is the matriarch of the Dupree family, we know her best. We are about her and we will always be team her. Needless to say, in Chicago, where rehearsals for the Articulettes reunion are happening, there was diva-level trouble.

While Anita may have needed to express her feedback more collaboratively and diplomatically, it didn’t change the fact that she wanted the Articulettes’ comeback to be a success. She has been clear about wanting this for Tracy (Maria Howell) and Sharon (Bonita Brisker), especially after the way Anita acted back in the day. She was the only one of them to move on from the girl group and become a superstar. And now she wants to give Tracy and Sharon a second chance to succeed.

Anita’s suggestions were met with vitriol. Tracy and Sharon were triggered. They understandably wanted to make sure that they were able to parlay this reunion into something more. Immediately, they fought back against any drastic changes to their act. And, for most of the episode, they went scorched earth on Anita and tried to put her in her place so she wouldn’t outshine them. It was hard to watch those two unleash so much bitterness on their fellow Articulette.

It wasn’t a shock when Anita told them that everything was paid for. They could get up there on stage and perform. But they would do it without her. YIkes.

Stalker, Much?

At Uptown, Madison (Kenjah) and Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) continued to get to know each other. As they were leaving, Chelsea saw Allison (Brianna Roberts) sitting in a booth. This was the second time this scenario had happened. This could become a pattern. Right now, Allison is giving stalker vibes, and Madison and Chelsea need to proceed cautiously.

Last time Chelsea and Allison talked, she had regretted turning Chelsea down. She couldn’t stop thinking bout the former model and wanted to pursue something more. Allison may not be able to let go. Chelsea’s annoyance may not even register with Allison at all. Chelsea is going to need to look out for herself and Madison for the foreseeable future.

Bigoted Busboy Targets Someone New

Kenneth (Jason Vendryes) is the most dangerous threat right now because he is coming at Martin (Brandon Claybon) from all angles. He wants payback, and he wants to get paid. Plus, he wants to instill the fear of God in Martin. He showed up at the congressman’s house thanks to his son, Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller).

And on Friday, the thug met up with Samantha (Najah Jackson) in the park. What? Martin’s cozy life is about to blow up. He is panicking, which is why he turned to Detective Marcel Malone (Darryl W. Handy) for protection for his family. And that decision will cause more trouble for Martin.
