Norwegian Cruise Line just canceled dozens of cruises that were scheduled to set sail between November 2026 and March 2027.

Those who had already booked a trip received letters about the cancellations, which affect more than five months of cruises sailing out of New Orleans and San Juan, Puerto Rico to the Southern and Western Caribbean.

The cruise line shared letters with USA Today that apologized to disappointed travelers.

“As passionate cruisers ourselves, we know this wasn’t part of your plan, and we truly apologize for any disruption or disappointment this has caused,” Norwegian stated in the letters. “We want to assure you that we’re here to make this process as smooth as possible.”

The cruises were canceled because the two ships will swap places due to “a fleet redeployment," according to USA Today. Prima will now sail the Southern Caribbean cruises from Puerto Rico, while Breakaway will offer trips to the Western Caribbean from New Orleans.

Norwegian travelers currently can't book any Caribbean cruises out of NOLA or San Juan between November 2026 and March 2027. However, USA Today reports that "the original itineraries will still be available on the new ships and will open for bookings on August 8."

Travelers who are open to other departure ports have options. There are Norwegian cruises that sail from Florida and other states to the Caribbean next winter. Or, check out our list of the best cruise itineraries that sail from Southern ports for travel inspiration.
