This Padres player will perform in concert at Gallagher Square

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — We all know the Padres can ball out on the field, but one Padre is going to showcase his talents off the field — on the music stage.
Padres infielder JoseIglesias is also a Latin-pop artistwho will perform with Mexican band La Adictiva on Thursday, Sept. 25 in Gallagher Square at Petco Park, the team said in a news release Tuesday.
Iglesias’ nickname “Candelita,” which in Spanish translates to “little flame,” is inspired by his father’s nickname Candelario. The nickname he picked up in Cuba is also his stage name.

Candelita will perform his newly released single, “Roto,” with La Adictiva, as well as “OMG,” which debuted during the 2024 Major League Baseball season.
Earlier this spring, Iglesias joined the Padres organization as a minor league free agent.
La Adictiva, known for musical hits like “En Peligro de Extinction” and “Despues de Ti Quien,” has been nominated for multiple Latin Grammy Awards and numerous Billboard Latin Music Awards. The band is originally from Mesillas Concordia in Sinaloa, MX.
Tickets for the public will go on sale on Thursday at 10 a.m.
