Nothing beats the feeling of curling up under a warm blanket, flicking through Netflix and discovering a new feel good show.
Nothing, that is, except finding out that that show has been renewed for another season.
Fans of the CW show-turned-Netflix sensation got the treat of the summer this Wednesday when a Deadline exclusive reported the renewal of one beloved romantic drama before its past season finale had even aired. The “shiny new” Netflix hit was a sensation from the moment it arrived on the streamer, boasting an impressive 3 million views and 22 million hours watched in its first week on Netflix.

The “warm” and “cozy” show stars One Tree Hill’s Chad Michael Murray, Morgan Kohan and Scott Patterson of Gilmore Girls fame. Based on a five-book series by Virgin River author Robyn Carr, Sullivan’s Crossing tells the story of Maggie Sullivan (Kohan) who, in the wake of legal difficulties, has to return to her rural Nova Scotia hometown where she must navigate reconnecting with her estranged father (Patterson) and a complicated romance with Cal (Murray).
The hit Canadian show premiered on the Canadian network CTV in 2023. Already renewed for a 4th season in Canada, the fate of Sullivan’s Crossing in the United States was, at first, unclear, ShowSnob reported. Once it skyrocketed to the number 1 position in the United States on Netflix, though, things changed for the fan-favorite show. Just hours before the Sullivan’s Crossing season 3 finale was due to air on The CW in the United States, the network announced a 10-episode order for season 4. Season 3 is set to arrive on Netflix in the United States in August.
The series was created by Virgin River executive producer Roma Roth, who told Deadline, “It’s very gratifying to know Sullivan’s Crossing is resonating so well with our global audience.”
About working with The CW network, Roth added, “I’m very excited with the season four renewal and am extremely grateful to have supportive partners who understand the value of my brand as well as the importance of producing comfort programming.”
