Call of Duty: Warzone Players Can Get a Secret Black Ops 7 Weapon Blueprint

With the worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 just days away, Activision has added a handful of secret cosmetic items, including a brand-new weapon blueprint for the XM4 Assault Rifle, to Call of Duty: Warzone. There's no in-game challenge for these items, but some Call of Duty: Warzone players have now worked out how to complete the in-game easter egg for Black Ops 7 and obtain all of the accompanying rewards.

Back in June, Xbox closed out its yearly showcase with the very first look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The mind-bending first trailer confirmed plenty of details about the shooter's setting, characters, plot, and more, but still left plenty of questions unanswered. David Mason, the playable protagonist of Black Ops 2, will be making his return alongside the villainous Raul Menendez. The trailer also confirmed previous leaks and rumors that the shooter will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, set in the year 2035. While no gameplay footage was shown during the trailer, an official worldwide reveal is right around the corner.

How to Get Free Black Ops 7 Blueprint in Warzone

To get fans ready for the worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on August 19, Activision has added a handful of secret cosmetic items to Call of Duty: Warzone, including a new weapon blueprint for the XM4 Assault Rifle. As there are no directions in-game, obtaining these cosmetic items can be somewhat of a challenge. As of this week, there are now some rare chests around Verdansk that have a glowing red effect around them. Players simply need to open these chests and then run through the red patches of butterflies that appear. Running through 5 butterflies unlocks an emote, and 30 butterflies grants players the new Prismatic Tracer weapon blueprint for the XM4.

These chests were added to the game alongside a new teaser for Black Ops 7's villain, Raul Menendez. Inside the TV Station POI, a short video of Menendez can be found, where the character is addressing his return to the public. To unlock a free Black Ops 7 calling card, stand inside of TV Station and watch Menendez's short video. These are all of the cosmetics currently available as part of the secret Black Ops 7 teasers, but with a worldwide reveal just a few days away, there's a good chance that more goodies will be up for grabs in the future.

There's currently no confirmed release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 just yet, but the next entry in the iconic franchise is rumored to be releasing on November 14. While a date is likely to be announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live next week, Activision has already confirmed that the next Black Ops game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Sadly, there's still no word on a Nintendo Switch 2 launch, despite the fact that Microsoft previously entered into a 10-year agreement with Nintendo to bring all new Call of Duty titles to Nintendo platforms.
