Undisputed Adding Two Free Fighters in August 2025 Update

DanielaGames2025-08-289630

A new Undisputed update is officially being planned for later this month, and developer Steel City Interactive has now confirmed that the patch will include two free fighters, as well as a whole host of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, adjustments, and more. While no set release date for the next Undisputed has been announced, the studio has given fans a sneak peek of what's to come with the official patch notes.

It's been a rocky first year for Steel City Interactive's highly anticipated boxing title. Undisputed launched to mixed reviews last year after finally leaving early access, but many reviewers believed the game felt worse to play following its 1.0 launch. Fans who had been patiently waiting for Undisputed's full release slammed the lack of features, barebones career mode, as well as the various bugs and gameplay issues in online matches. Thankfully, Steel City has remained committed to rectifying these complaints via a steady stream of new updates. Now it looks like the latest patch is in its final stages of development, with a full release expected in the coming days.

Undisputed Confirms Two New Fighters Coming Soon

Earlier this month, Steel City gave fans an early look at the next Undisputed update via some brief patch notes. Now, with the update aiming to launch sometime this month, the studio has shared the full change log over on its Discord, while also confirming that the new update will also include two free fighters: Antonio Tarver, a former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion, and Billy Dib, a former featherweight and super-featherweight champion. While Dib is still an active boxer, Tarver hasn't been seen in the ring since 2015. The boxer intended to make a comeback against former UFC champion Frank Mir in 2021, but Tarver withdrew from the bout after not being cleared by the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission.

The update will also include a whole host of bug fixes, fighter ratings changes, and some adjustments to Sergio Martinez, both at middleweight and welterweight. According to the patch notes, Steel City intends to remove Undisputed's popular Lightning Hands Perk from the fighter, as well as lowering the boxer's punch speed to 90 at middleweight and 91 at welterweight. Steel City says it has also adjusted the majority of Martinez's punches in the southpaw speed stat and reduced the speed of his right uppercut in the orthodox speed stat.

Any major Undisputed updates often launch alongside a new DLC that is filled with fighters for players to get their hands on. However, the studio has recently been adding more and more new fighters into the game for free. While Dib and Tarver will join the game later this month, it was only two months ago that Undisputed's big 1.4 update added a batch of new fighters to the game: Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, and Damian Chambers. Even more fighters were also made available via the new Mexican Monster DLC.
