Deadpool VR Trailer Confirms 5 Classic Marvel Villains and the Game’s Release Date

Marvel's Deadpool VR made a big impact at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, showing off five classic Marvel villains that the Merc With a Mouth will be going toe-to-toe with in the upcoming action-adventure game. With his humorous fourth wall-breaking antics and penchant for extreme violence, Deadpool has risen to become one of Marvel's most popular heroes, and Marvel's Deadpool VR will be giving him a list of top-name enemies to square off against.

The VR-exclusive Deadpool game was first announced on June 6, at Summer Game Fest 2025, promising players the chance to step inside the red-and-black suit of Marvel's most famous antihero. Planned for release on the Meta Quest 3 and 3s on November 18, 2025, the development team at Twisted Pixel promises the game will include hard-hitting parkour action with a twisted sense of humor.

As shown in a new trailer at Gamescom 2025's opening night presentation, the game will feature at least five powerful villains from the Marvel universe. It appears as though alien slaver Mojo will take a central role as antagonist, placing Deadpool at the center of his deadly game show. But he won't be facing the antihero alone, as the trailer shows he'll be joined by living Soviet superweapon Omega Red, regular Wolverine foe Lady Deathstrike, giant robot Ultimo, and Faustian demon Mephisto.
Along with villainous organizations like Hydra and The Hand, Mephisto's inclusion in Marvel's Deadpool VR had already been leaked via some test footage that made its way onto the internet in June. An immensely powerful immortal being, his destructive capabilities dwarf the rest of the villains shown off at Gamescom, so it will be interesting to see how he ties into the plot, considering that Mojo's narration in the new trailer indicates that he recruited the rest of the bad guy team from across time and space.

From the looks of things, Deadpool also may not be facing off against this superpowered force alone. While the gameplay shown includes some brutality, including beating down an already incapacitated Omega Red, the trailer also shows Deadpool seemingly on much more friendly terms with some potentially unlikely Marvel heroes, like Mojo's top servant, Spiral, as she guides him through a portal. More will likely be revealed before Marvel's Deadpool VR's release on November 18, 2025.
