Hollow Knight: Silksong Surprise Release Date Has Made at Least One Game Delay

The developers of Faeland have decided to postpone its version 1.0 release due to the arrival of Hollow Knight: Silksong. After years of waiting for fans, Team Cherry has confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming out on September 4 for PC and consoles, including Nintendo Switch 2. In addition to that, the developers have revealed that the highly anticipated game will also receive post-launch content.

It all started when Hollow Knight: Silksong was announced in February 2019 in a developer's diary, with Team Cherry sharing its plans to tell a new story in another realm, with Hornet as the focus. However, the initial hype turned into great apprehension due to the lack of concrete news and a delay. The public was anxious, while some Hollow Knight fans reacted with good humor to the limbo in which the game seemed to be. Now Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally on its way, and because of that, the full release of one game will be delayed.
Faeland Postpones Full Release Due to Hollow Knight: Silksong
On Twitter, the developers of Faeland decided not to release version 1.0 on September 9. The statement emphasizes that it was a difficult decision and that a new release date will be shared soon. Developed and published by Talegames, Faeland is an RPG inspired by classic 8-bit games available in Early Access on Steam, and version 1.0 was expected on September 9. The game follows Sam, a skilled hunter who travels through a realm of magic, magical creatures, and great dangers as he meets NPCs and acquires new skills and items.
According to the developers, the postponement of Faeland's release was to ensure that the game arrives at a time when it can “receive the attention and care it deserves,” since the game is a years-long project. More specifically, it all started with Kickstarter funding in 2018, with Faeland quickly surpassing its $29,000 goal, raising $57,384. Responses to Talegames' tweet were positive, and while players lamented the postponement of version 1.0, they showed support for the developers' decision.

While Faeland has no new release date, fans' wait for Team Cherry's game will soon be over, as Hollow Knight: Silksong arrives on September 4. A sequel to the 2017 game, the new trailer shows Hornet, the princess and guardian of Hallownest, in a beautiful, hand-crafted world. In this brand-new adventure, Hornet has been captured and taken to a new kingdom. Now she must navigate unfamiliar terrain, battle different creatures, and discover new powers and secrets about her past.
