Taking our dogs on adventures with us is sort of a no-brainer, and a lot of us pet parents want to bring our pups everywhere we can. Well, one cat mom feels the same way about her gorgeous Maine Coon kitty, so she decided to bring him with her to the beach.

Just wait until you see this stunning Maine Coon's reaction to his beach adventure. Beach bunny chill mode totally unlocked.

The beautiful caption of this post on the TikTok account @heresthekeys reads, "A life of I'm so glad we brought him instead of he would've loved this."

That's such a touching reminder that our pets really are only with us for a short amount of time, and we should explore as much of the world as we can with them, no matter if they are a dog or a cat.

One person commented, "This is so beautiful, he looks so at peace on the beach." Another person added, "How do you do this? I'm afraid to bring my cat to the beach!"

Taking your feline to the beach might sound like a wild idea, but for the right kind of chill, curious kitty, it can be a really fun experience. I’ve seen more and more people bringing their cats along on little adventures, and the beach is no exception. That said, this is definitely not something to do spontaneously. You have to plan ahead to keep your pet safe and comfortable.

First things first, make sure your cat is microchipped. If something scares them and they manage to wriggle out of their harness or carrier, a microchip could be the thing that brings them home to you. Second, never take your kitty to the beach without a secure, well-fitted harness and leash. Even if they’re in a carrier, you’ll want that harness on as a backup.

The beach can get really hot, and cats can overheat quickly. Always bring fresh water, find a shady spot to hang out, and don’t stay too long. You can even bring a little cooling mat or an umbrella to make it more comfortable. Also, check the sand temperature before letting your kitty walk on it. If it’s too hot for your feet, it’s too hot for their paws.

Let your cat stay in the carrier with the door open at first so they can adjust. Some felines love the sand and breeze, while others will let you know right away that this isn’t their scene. Respect their comfort level. The beach isn’t for every cat, and that’s OK.

If your kitty ends up loving it, it can be an amazing little outing full of new sights and smells. Just make sure safety comes first, and pack plenty of water, patience, and maybe a little seafood-flavored treat for the road.

Make as many memories as you can with your fur baby because you will treasure them forever!
