Although the story was good, The Sands of Time really stood out for its impressive, fluid parkour mechanics, puzzles, and the unique ability to rewind time after players made a mistake—giving the gameplay a whole new layer. The game is regarded as a classic, which helped redefine action platformers in the 2000s. In 2020, Ubisoft dropped the news that a remake was in development, though it faced several delays and complications. Now, it seems like the studio is finally close to releasing it.

He commented on some of the potential investments Ubisoft could pursue, explaining that the studio has several iconic brand names that could be “activated or reactivated with little investment.” One of these, he clarified, is the highly awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, “which is going to be released very soon.”

It's unclear whether the CFO’s comments mean the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time release will happen earlier than March 31, though this is indeed an encouraging update for fans eager to dive back into the popular game. It’s worth noting that Duguet also teased the release of the Splinter Cell remake, which was a little bit vaguer, stating that it will happen “later on.” For now, fans should exercise patience and await an official announcement.
