Rockstar Games Job Listings Hint at Major GTA 6 Feature

BronxGames2025-07-3110130

Grand Theft Auto 6 could incorporate some kind of user-generated content (UGC), according to several recent job postings at Rockstar Games. Such a feature could further extend the game's longevity, which is already expected to be substantial.

Since its late 2023 announcement, GTA 6 has received two trailers, eight character vignettes, and some screenshots and key art offering an overview of its key locations, including Vice City, Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, and Mount Kalaga. However, Rockstar has yet to mention anything in the way of gameplay details.

While details on the Grand Theft Auto 6 storyline are still scarce, some evidence suggests Rockstar's hiding at least one huge reveal.

As the fans' wait for official information on this front continues, Rockstar just posted two job ads that might hint at some GTA 6 gameplay elements in an indirect manner. The listings, spotted by PCGamesN, describe openings for an associate compliance manager based in Bangalore, India, as well as a senior product manager working from the company's Manhattan office. Both roles are focused on user-generated content.

The responsibilities of the advertised roles range from contributing to Rockstar's existing UGC platforms—such as the FiveM modding framework for GTA 5 and its Red Dead Redemption 2 counterpart, RedM—and tracking emerging trends in user-generated content. The senior product manager ad also mentions helping to define the direction and monetization models of Rockstar's UGC openings, while the associate compliance manager listing includes references to supporting moderation and community policy enforcement across dedicated servers of the company's platforms.

Rockstar's UGC Ambitions Are Intact Ahead of GTA 6, But They May Not Be Growing

Rockstar expanding its UGC team suggests that its push for user-made content is set to continue. With GTA 6 as the developer's only major release on the horizon, the highly anticipated title is likely to be central to this strategy. While the newly spotted job listings indicate that the company's UGC ambitions remain intact, they do not necessarily signal growth; Rockstar operates a dozen studios across four continents and employs thousands worldwide, making two UGC-focused roles statistically negligible. These job ads may simply reflect attrition—employees retiring or quitting, thus leaving openings needing to be filled—rather than a shift in broader workforce strategy.

Following its latest delay, GTA 6 is now scheduled to launch in May 2026, on the 26th. As was the case with its predecessor, the game will only be available on consoles at launch. Rockstar has yet to comment on a potential PC version, which may not arrive until 2027, or possibly later, depending on the timing of the next console generation. This would mirror the release pattern of GTA 5, which launched on PC in 2015, after it had already reached two consecutive console generations in just as many preceding years.
