Sydney Sweeney Stuns With Dramatic Brunette Updo, a Major Shift From Her Signature Blonde

Sydney Sweeney debuted a new brunette updo for her film Eden.

Her chestnut-colored locks come as quite the transformation from her signature long, golden-blonde locks.

Sweeney has displayed several different hair colors and styles over the years, including an inky-black bob and strawberry-blonde curls.

It's declared: Sydney Sweeney is a true hair chameleon. While the actress will always find her way back to her signature long, golden-blonde locks, there genuinely isn't a color or hairstyle she can't rock. Case in point: Sweeney has pulled off an inky-black wavy bob with full fringe at the 2024 Met Gala, an '80s punk-inspired updo back in June, a frizzy dark shag that made her look completely unrecognizable for her new upcoming biopic Christy, and strawberry-blonde doll-like curls with bouncy bangs for her film Americana. Now, she's taking chestnut-colored brown hair for a spin, and seeing as the Euphoria star is a natural brunette, it comes as no surprise that she looks great in the fresh hue.

The 27-year-old took to Instagram to give her thriller-survival film Eden, out today, some love. She surprised her 25.2 million followers with a compilation of set photos that sees her sporting tresses several shades darker from her usual sunshine strands. Her chocolatey locks are styled in a neat, voluminous, old-timely updo.

The style is the perfect complement to her parade of 1930s looks, including one baby-blue, polka dot co-ord, composed of a short sleeve button-up top and matching flowy midiskirt, paired with simple white sneakers. In a second snap, she swapped the sneakers for brown leather Mary Jane flats with double straps.

In another slide, Sweeney dons a flowy white patterned button-down shirt, cinched at the waist with a wide brown belt and paired with a gray midiskirt and the same sneakers. A third look sees her in a white polka-dot dress with cap sleeves and a crossover neckline.

Her fourth costume included a white patterned dress layered under a white button-down shirt, paired with a floppy sunhat and mauve-pink scarf. Sweeney's final movie look was a dark-green floral-printed smock dress layered over a lighter-green floral-printed T-shirt.

To show just how much of a 180 hair transformation Sweeney underwent, she included a photo with her costars Ana de Armas and Daniel Brühl with her everyday hair. She styled her lightened blonde locks in their natural waves with a middle part, while going casual in an oversize black Alo hoodie and matching leggings.
