Analyst spots best breakout attempt as XRP jumps 30% originally appeared on TheStreet.
XRP, the third-largest cryptocurrency, is easily among the best-performing altcoins, as Bitcoin is hitting new record.
While BTC has surged 9% over the last seven days, XRP has soared more than 30% during the same timeframe.
XRP was trading at $2.91 at press time — its highest peak since early March.
Pseudonymous crypto analyst, known as @CryptoDonAlt on X, wondered if the cryptocurrency is finally nearing a breakout.
CryptoDonAlt analyzed XRP's price chart and observed how the crypto asset has been traversing the $2-$2.7 range since December 2024.
The analyst spotted what they called the "best looking breakout attempt of the range yet" as XRP neared the $2.5 mark on July 10.
The asset hit the highest point of the $2-$2.7 range on June 11.
"Maybe a brief pause and then giga go? The ranging has gone on for long enough," CryptoDonAlt wrote.

The analyst counted "infinite" money, clout in the U.S. and E.U., it being the most serious coin after BTC, legal wins, and retail interest among the reasons why they bought XRP.
CryptoDonAlt admitted that though they aren't XRP's biggest fan, it is the best among all altcoins to capture the new regulatory clarity.
Over the last 12 months, XRP has surged more than 550%. However, not everyone is convinced it should be considered among the leading altcoins.
Tom Dunleavy, the head of venture at Varys Capital, recently referred to XRP as a "banking meme coin" and criticized its centralized model.
