Developer Funcom has deployed another patch for Dune: Awakening for July 2025, titled 1.1.15.0 hotfix, and the update finally addresses the exploitative duplication glitch. Dune: Awakening first launched players into Arrakis back in June, categorized as a multiplayer survival game, allowing fans to explore author Frank Herbert’s sandy Arrakis in a timeline without protagonist Paul Atreides. Currently available to play on Steam, the title will also be receiving PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions with an expected 2026 release window.
Dune: Awakening’s previous July update was designed to improve the endgame for both PvP and PvE players, just one month after the title’s full release. An earlier patch increased the Deep Desert significantly, and the following update made Tier 6 resources appear more frequently within the Deep Desert PvE zone, but not quite matching the amount that can be found in the desert’s PvP area.

Dune: Awakening Players Want Bigger Bank Storage
Some vocal Dune: Awakening players take to social media to voice complaints with the game's total bank storage volume—or lack thereof.
PostsOutlined in a blog post, Funcom supplied the patch notes for hotfix 1.1.15.0, which highlighted a handful of fixes for the game. One of the main takeaways from the update was a fix for the popular duplication glitch. "Fixed a vulnerability that allowed item duplication at the Exchange, while trading or in inventories. Visually, you may see duplicated items on your game client, but they don’t exist,” the patch explained, which finally tackled the exploit allowing players to copy items while trading through the Exchange. In addition to the duplication exploit, Funcom had an abundance of reimbursements to issue to Dune: Awakening players, after sleepers lost vehicles, equipment, and bases during another patch. Thankfully, it appears the developer is keeping on top of in-game issues and players' concerns at a rapid rate.
Dune: Awakening Fixes Duplication Glitch in New Hotfix
Looking to the future, there’s still the matter of Dune: Awakening’s griefing problem to address, but the devs noted in the last patch that rectifying this form of cheating will be the team’s primary focus over the coming weeks and months. The rest of hotfix 1.1.15.0 focused on improving server and client stability, and fixed some other issues, including one where players were unable to connect to the game after receiving a certain error code.
ClosePreceding Funcom’s latest patch release, the developer also announced a Dune: Awakening building contest, where players can take part in engineering to earn exclusive prizes. The community has been given a decent amount of time to submit their masterpieces to the contest, and judging on the builds already being showcased within Reddit threads, the judges are in for a difficult time choosing a winner, especially when some players are recreating the Great Sphinx of Giza.
