Pokemon TCG Pocket has shared details of the upcoming update to trading, introducing anticipated features like card wishlists on player profiles. Trading has long been one of Pokemon TCG Pocket's biggest struggles, and the developer has been working to improve it since its introduction.
One of the main problems with trading in Pokemon TCG Pocket has been the lack of communication features. Players have had to rely on third-party apps or social media to request the cards they need or promote the ones they want to trade. Another issue has been the Trading Tokens, which limit how often players can trade and are fairly difficult to obtain.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's Trade Change Kills Two Birds With One Stone
Pokemon TCG Pocket will make big changes to trading this year, and it will give players two major benefits at once.
PostsPokemon TCG Pocket's upcoming update on July 29 will seemingly address most of the issues with the Trade feature. For one, it will replace Trade Tokens with Shinedust, a common currency in Pokemon TCG Pocket. It will also let players display three cards on their profiles to show which ones they're missing.

Trade Tokens will be replaced with Shinedust. Existing Trade Tokens can be exchanged for Shinedust and up to 60 Pack Hourglasses. Players will be able to display up to three wishlisted cards on their profile. The amount of Shinedust earned from duplicate cards will be doubled.Pokemon TCG Pocket has also revealed the exchange rates for Trade Tokens. Each Token can be converted into 10 Shinedust, with no limits. Essentially, for every 100 Tokens, players will receive 1,000 Shinedust. These figures had already been speculated due to recent Pokemon TCG Pocket leaks, but players now have official confirmation on how the exchange will work. It's also worth noting that Trade Tokens will be discontinued after the update.

One notable detail about Pokemon TCG Pocket's upcoming patch is its unusually long downtime. The Trade feature will be temporarily disabled from July 24 to July 29, leaving fans without access to card trading for nearly five days. The developer hasn't disclosed why the update will require such a long downtime.
Unfortunately, the update won't change the types of cards players can trade. While many fans had hoped the game would allow trading of high-rarity Pokemon TCG Pocket cards, the list of tradable cards remains limited to diamond and one-star-rarity for now. And given how the developer handles the game's gacha and microtransaction systems, it seems unlikely that two-star and higher rarity cards will be available for trade any time soon.
