CD Projekt RED has responded to fans, confirming whether the developer plans to add a third-person mode in future Cyberpunk 2077 updates. A third-person mode could prove to be a lot of work, but it would be an interesting way to give Cyberpunk 2077 a new lease of life.
Despite suggestions that previous updates would be the end of the road for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED has surprised players multiple times in recent years with substantial new content drops for the game. The recent Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 update is the latest, reigniting interest in the game and offering a good excuse for fans to do yet another playthrough of the sci-fi RPG. Although the 2.3 update is still fresh, some fans are calling for a third-person camera mode to be added to the game, too.

Cyberpunk 2 Should Take the Leap of Faith That Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 Couldn't
While many features were added to Cyberpunk 2077 post-launch, there's one big addition that will have to wait for the sequel.
Posts 1As spotted by TheGamer, developer CD Projekt RED has responded to a post on X asking for a third-person camera in future Cyberpunk 2077 updates. The response from the studio is that "we have no such plans," indicating that such a feature is not in the works at the moment. While CD Projekt RED isn't currently working on a third-person camera, the response doesn't feel like it totally closes the door on the feature in the future, should priorities change. That's not to say that players should expect it, though.
CD Projekt RED Has 'No Such Plans' For a Cyberpunk 2077 Third-Person Mode
For now, the possibility of a third-person camera feels like something that belongs more to the realm of Cyberpunk 2077 mods. However, given the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3 has likely broken many older mods, gamers may have to wait for modders to update their creations before they can be used on the latest update.
CloseIf not in Cyberpunk 2077, then it's possible a third-person camera will be more likely in Cyberpunk 2. CD Projekt RED is currently in pre-production of Cyberpunk 2, with the studio's attention currently divided between that project and The Witcher 4. No release window has been given for the Cyberpunk sequel yet, but fans shouldn't expect to see it release anytime soon.
