Dying Light: The Beast will no longer release in August, as developer Techland has said it needs an additional four weeks of polishing time to make this "the best Dying Light game we’ve ever released." Dying Light: The Beast was initially going to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 22, followed by a last-gen release later in the year, but will now be launching on September 19. It's unclear if the game's release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has also been affected by this delay.
Initially, Dying Light: The Beast started out as a DLC for Dying Light 2. However, after eager fans managed to leak some story elements for the game's second DLC, Techland says it began toying with the idea of bringing back Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the original Dying Light. The idea then turned into something much larger than a DLC, and Dying Light: The Beast was born. Although this isn't technically Dying Light 3, Techland has said that it's treating it as such. Unfortunately, with the third installment becoming so big, Techland has now said it needs a few extra weeks to ensure the title is polished and ready to go.

Dying Light: The Beast Now Releases September 19
The studio explained that it was "blushing" over the positive previews for Dying Light: The Beast. "It proved the gut feeling that we had already - we’re making a very special, fun game," Techland said. The studio's statement goes on to explain how it is now effortlessly reading and collecting feedback and opinions to ensure that fans' voices are being heard. Although the delay is going to be disappointing for fans, Techland says it intends to make Dying Light: The Beast the best Dying Light game ever released, which is why it is taking the extra 4 weeks to make things as perfect as they can be.
