A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player has brought home a ton of money from his wins on TV game show Jeopardy, ultimately pocketing nearly half a million dollars. The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player's impressive Jeopardy run spanned more than two weeks before he was knocked out by another participant.
Jeopardy originally premiered way back in 1964, pitting players against a wide range of trivia questions and subjects in a bid to take home a cash prize. Generally, fans of video games have taken notice of the game show due to Jeopardy having video game-related questions, but in this case, the player in question utilized their knowledge of subjects outside Super Smash Bros. to take home a sizable amount of money.

The Luckiest Man in America: The True Story Behind This Absurd Game Show Win
The story of Michael Larson was one of the strangest TV scandals of the 1980s, and IFC's 2025 film will tell the bizarre story on the big screen.
PostsAfter 16 days, ending on July 25, Scott "Biscotto" Riccardi of New Jersey completed his run on Jeopardy, being knocked out in the season finale by competitor and trivia host Jonathan Hugendubler. Riccardi ultimately won a stunning $455,000 across his 16 games, which has placed him in the top 10 of multiple categories in the Jeopardy Leaderboard of Legends. At the time of publication, Riccardi was listed in eighth place for the highest winnings of any player in a regular Jeopardy season, while he was tied for tenth place for most consecutive games won. Though there's a considerable distance between them, this puts his name alongside legendary record smashers like James Holzhauer and prior competitor and current Jeopardy host, Ken Jennings.
Scott Riccardi's Jeopardy Winnings Surpass Smash Pros
Riccardi has entered a number of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate competitions, where he typically plays as Marth or Bayonetta. However, his Jeopardy earnings have not only eclipsed his winnings in Smash competitions, but those of some of the biggest names. For example, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate pro MkLeo has won $168,669 from Ultimate tournaments over the course of his career, while Hungrybox has netted $453,714 from his wins in Super Smash Bros. Melee. These numbers are obviously impressive, but they also took several years for those Smashers to achieve, too.
CloseThis is certainly a rare achievement to be able to brag about, regardless of how Riccardi performs in Smash battles from here on out. With that said, now that Riccardi has reached the Leaderboard of Legends, it's entirely possible that he will be invited back for a future Jeopardy match. High scorers are often invited to participate in special tournaments that pit the best of the best against each other, so this Smash fan could eventually end up with an even bigger sum.
