Minecraft has shared a new teaser for crossover content that's on the way to the game. Minecraft players will soon be able to enjoy content based on a children's movie that recently hit theaters.
Minecraft has hosted tons of crossover content over the years. The ability to purchase and download additional content for the game through the Minecraft Marketplace makes it easy and accessible, and it seems that both players and other media projects have appreciated the frequent partnerships.

Minecraft Players Want a Change to Mobs
Minecraft mobs add life to Mojang's sandbox, and players believe this change would make the experience with them even better.
PostsNow, Minecraft has suddenly teased that a new crossover is coming to the game. This time, the crossover appears to be with The Smurfs, or specifically, the movie adaptation of the long-running comic and cartoon, titled simply Smurfs, which released in mid-July 2025. The tease features an image of what looks like a Minecraft-ified Smurf, with a simple caption of "The village is about to look different," alongside a mushroom and blue circle emoji. If there were any doubt, the Smurfs movie was tagged in the tweet as well, cementing that something will be arriving in collaboration with the movie soon.
Minecraft x Smurfs Crossover Gets Players Talking
Plenty of Minecraft fans have been chatting about the reveal since, as the lack of solid information from Mojang has allowed for speculation. For example, some Minecraft players have voiced hopes that the content won't be limited to Minecraft Java Edition, as they want to play it on Minecraft Bedrock. Others have wondered how involved the content will be, with some speculating that it could contain anything from simple skins to Smurf NPCs. One player excitedly shared the idea of shrinking down to Smurf size, allowing players to explore a secret Smurf village.
CloseWhile there's no official date yet, players can likely expect this content to be made available via the Minecraft Marketplace soon. Similar to Fortnite, Minecraft has seen tons of collaborations with other media projects, and this Smurfs collaboration is just one of many instances of movie crossovers with the game just during the summer of 2025 so far. For example, Minecraft paired up with another live-action/animated adaptation earlier in 2025, bringing new How to Train Your Dragon content to the game. Minecraft also got some free goodies from A Minecraft Movie in 2025, as well. Those who are less interested in The Smurfs may want to check these earlier releases out, but those who enjoy The Smurfs franchise seem very excited for this new addition.
